Wing Training day (WTD) is an annual event where squadrons within the Wing compete against each other in many events and ultimately the winners are given the opportunity to represent Greater Manchester Wing at Regional Training Day at RAF Linton on Ouse.

To make sure we are the best that we can be, at 184 Squadron we have been practising outside of parade hours, showing commitment and working together in our teams to make sure we are strong in all areas.

Banner Drill is going extremely well, the team is now fine tuning everything in order to act as a single unit. Cadet Corporal Rubbani, expressed confidently, "As banner bearer, I am pleased with the way the party has gelled as a team"

Another activity on WTD is Air Recognition which is of interest for the cadets who envisage a future career in Aviation. They are all working hard by researching outside of parade hours. Their team leader Cadet Sergeant Singh Hayer is pleased, he commented "Progress is good and we're on track so hopefully I'd like to see us come in the top ten squadrons at WTD this year".

Aircraft Modelling, lead by Cdt Agathogli, has done fantastic job having already completed the aircrafts to a very high standard. It took alot of patience but and the effort will undoubtedly be rewarded on the day.

Finally, First aid, the team lead by CFS Issa has been getting to grips with CPR and all other aspects of first aid making sure they know everything there is to know. As part of their preparation the team also been attended the St.Johns Youth First Aider course at the weekend to make sure that they are all confident and are able to succeed at WTD.

You may have noticed that there has been no report on the progress made by the drill team; their progress is being kept top secret but they assure us it is going well and the staff seem please so surely that’s a good sign.

With all the hard work that the squadron as unit is putting in, we are ready and roaring to go. The preparation we are all undergoing in our individual fields will contribute to our overall placing at Greater Manchester Wing Training Day 2013.
